Well, we've been having some chilly temperatures but at least it hasn't been raining like January. It's still warm when you're in the beautiful, sparkling sunshine - making beach days still a very pleasant outing.
Captiva News: The Captiva Community Panel met with LCEC to discuss a solution to the blackouts and brownouts Captiva has been experiencing. The plan is to bury a powerline that has been the source of problems with high winds and a car crash at the end of 2015. Good news for Captiva residents!
Get ready for the annual Shell Show coming up on March 3rd, 4th and 5th! The judges have been chosen - Dr. Henry Chaney of Santa Barbara, California. Dr. Jose Leal of Fort Myers. Anne Joffe of Sanibel. And Jeff Oths of Sanibel. The Sanibel Shell Show competition is open to the public. To enter the Artistic Division, your entry must be received by February 14th. THIS WEEKEND!! Saturday, Feb 13th & Sunday, Feb 14th: Sanibel Captiva Rotary Club's 33rd Art & Craft Fair - Sanibel Community House at 2173 Periwinkle Way. There's plenty of event parking so don't hesitate to come out for the Arts & Crafts Fair. You could also walk or bike!
